What Do You Actually Do?
You know what happiness is from service provider to potentially you are? What are you? But are you a course creator, a coach, a service provider? What do you provide? I am super curious. And tell me.
Chasing Sub Dollar Lead Costs
Because for me, happiness right now, I’m looking at my other monitor, which is like right on this side of the screen. Is for my new client, we’re running ads, you know, to a free thing. And we’ve been able to get the lead cost under a dollar. And by no means is this saying that your lead cost should be under a dollar. It’s just their lead costs are under a dollar. Okay. Um, that is actually exceedingly low, but that’s not actually why I’m happy because you know I get good lead costs for client
Tripwire Math That Lowers CPL
all the time. Why I’m happy is because this client has a tripwire, you know, the thing that’s on the thank you page of the free thing, and this is the paid thing. So the paid thing that’s on the thank you page of the free thing is a tripwire, right? And although most people come to the free thing and they’re in like the get free thing mindset and they hit the thank you page and they piece out, some people usually will buy that tripwire, the paid thing, you know, that usually aligns between the free thing and then the bigger paid thing that we want to sell later on in our business. That right there will preach for strategy. If you’re thinking about having a tripwire that actually makes you money, by the way. I do have a course on that. It’s not sold by itself. I think it’s it’s the ad testing cheat code, which lowers your lead cost or shows you how I lower lead costs for clients. That is super affordable and it’s in the show notes below. Okay, but what I really want to talk about is why I’m happy. They have a tripwire, okay? And the tripwire is making back, I just sent an email, so I’m reading it, it’s making back 41% of the lead cost. So the under a dollar lead cost, if you want to reverse math it, I’m just giving you the highlights, is now down to a net once you factor in the tripwire. 39 cents per lead. And I am happy for that. Quite happy for that. But you know what’s even better? You know what just tickles me? This client already was selling a bunch of stuff. And when they hired me, they said, Quaju, I want to grow my email list. And I was like, sure. I almost said, which is uh, we can do that in Mandarin Chinese. I used to live in China for like 12 years, and then they started to tell me like what their revenue was and the other things they’re selling. And I’m like, Are you doing this? And they’re like, No, we’re not. I’m like, you definitely should. And what I told them they should do was we are going to run, and we spoiler, already have done it now, and that’s
Testing Low Ticket Ads For ROAS
why I’m happy. But I told them at the time we’re gonna run ads directly to their low-ticket offer, their $9.99 thing, because they had told me stats they had as far as how much of it they were selling, you know, to people on their email list, and then you know, how much of the order bump they were selling, because I asked, and how much of the upsell they were selling, and I was like, uh, we should be running ads to that low-ticket offer for you, in addition to building your email list, because most likely we can run ads profitably to that low-ticket offer. I can’t guarantee anything, can’t guarantee anything, but we might as well try since you’re hiring me to run your ads. And they were like, Okay, let’s try. And those ads just went live because this is a newer client, right? Those ads just went live yesterday, and as I was looking, the the the results are promising already. We got profitability here. It’s starting out higher at right around 1.76 ROAS, which means uh return on ad spend. I give a dollar, you know, and then get out two dollars. That would be two X ROAS. Actually, let me let me check right now. Okay, so real talk on day two, like how this ad says 2.16 ROAS, and this ad says 2.39, and oh, but this one says 0.75, and so full transparency, it dropped down today to 1.01, which is sad because it was much higher. But you know what happened? And this is ads management for you. Looks like this ad today started spending well more money, and it didn’t actually result in sales, so we’re just gonna turn that ad off and then we can get back to higher ROAS. The higher ROAS that made me happy. Now, why is this even on a podcast episode?
Happiness Through Client Results
God bless you, you made it this far. And all that is to say is I’m happy delivering a service to get results for my client. Are you happy delivering your service or your course to get results for your clients or customers? If you’re not quite, I recommend shifting into something that aligns with your skills and passions that makes you more fulfilled. Now I can say as an ad manager, in full transparency, managing Facebook and Instagram ads is not my number one passion, right? It’s my number one skill, and it’s the skill that puts food on the table for my kids and my wife and and me. Maybe actually there’s a little too much food on the table for me, right? So I’ll I’ll eat a little less. But it’s not my number one passion, you know? And so I just want to say, like, it’s okay for you not to be operating or serving people with your number one passion. Like, you can have a passion like me to serve people and be excellent about it and do well for other people. But let’s not go through our days of not being as happy as as as we as we should. And I know that not every day is roses and rainbows and all this kind of stuff,
Real Life Messy Days And Joy
right? Um, but some days you threaten to spank your kid in order to get them to admit to you that uh they’ve been stealing chocolate-covered raisins from Trader Joe’s. Those are so good, but we can’t get those down here in Mexico, and so we can’t have kids stealing them from the top of the fridge, or those fried uh uh banana chips that can be gotten on the street corner down by the little plaza, or the really tasty sweet potatoes that we bought from the supermarket. Uh, not that that really happened, of course, those are just examples that I’m giving you, right? But not everything is great all the time. And yet we don’t want to go too many days doing our business, too many weeks doing our business without like reconnecting with uh the joy, the happiness, you know, the thing that’s fulfilling, helping another human being in a way that they could not help themselves. And that’s the end of this episode. So take care, be blessed. You’ll hear from me in the next one.
